In this assignment, we had to write poetry including alliteration, metaphor, simile, and personification in a website called Pic-Lit. Pic-Lit is a media where you can choose an available picture of your likings and write something in there. Whether it is related to yourself, the world, someone else, you can post it up there and share your thoughts with others. I like this website since there is a lot of positivity in it and it is also somewhere that you can share your feelings and opinions. This media was easy to deal with since there weren’t many settings you had to complete to make your piece of writing. Having to communicate with others and express your opinions is a part of the core competency: Communication.
For my Pic-Lit, I wrote about global warming because it is affecting everyone right now and we have to know about the harsh things we’ve done to planet earth. It was challenging to think about a sentence involving alliteration, simile, etc. and to have it relate to global warming at the same time. However, even though it was challenging, I still found it enjoyable as I experienced with things that are out of my comfort zone such as poetry. During this part where you have to think deeply about what you want to write involves Creativity as a core competency. I believe that being creative is also something that I should work on and improve in the future.
