Open in new tab Core Competency Reflection: I used creative thinking in this assignment as I had to come up with an idea for the poem and what picture to use. I went with a wintery picture because well I wish that the amount of snow on the ground and trees in that picture are what I wish Port Moody looked like right now as I want it to snow like really badly. I also picture one of my own cats Satsuki as the cat mentioned in the poem as she always loved the snow when it came which made her diffrent from my other two cats Erza and Luna as they both like to stay indoors more then go outside and yes all my cats are named after female anime characters don’t judge me. I also had to come up with several literary devices for this assignment and I’m going to be honest I came up with them of the top of my head while I was writing.So one thing I would change for this assignment is the literary device usage, although they are good I could make them better and maybe seem less forced but that can only be done with more writing area something that this assignment dosent provide as you are limited by the picture size which is about 10 lines. So that would be one thing I would change about the structure of the assignment is maybe to allow students to make the actual poem in word were they have more space and would just copy the poem over in a smaller font. But all in all I do like this assignment and the Pic-lits program.
