Socials 9 Industrial Revolution Invention Project

During the invention fair I demonstrated communication as a core competency. I asked and responded to important questions people asked. It was a good thing I could answer almost all of the questions because that made me seem like I knew what I was doing. There were a couple of questions that sort of stumped me, but I picked it back up and kept going. I was a good active listener and I listened to what ideas my group members proposed. If their was an idea someone proposed that the others didn’t like, we recognized their point of view and found a way around it.

I understood the things we were talking about and shared information about the shoes we created when presenting. We presented it in a clear, presentable way. This seemed like a hard thing to do because our product was unrealistic and a bit confusing but we were able to do it. I presented information to teachers and students that we didn’t know. I think we did this in a pretty even way splitting the work. I did a good job taking the role of coloring, fine lining and doing the write-up.

We summarized our idea to the teachers collectively and took turns sharing thoughts. We got feedback that our product was too cheap so we made it more expensive. I recounted the experience and thought about what the presentation meant as a whole. Another thing I did well was representing my learning through information we shared in my presentation.  believe that overall we did a very good job showing the communication core competencies. We displayed them quite well throughout our work period and also throughout the presentation itself.
