STUDENT REFECTION:
1. Give 3 reasons why you would like this job:
- Experiencing new technology – I love playing with new tech and buying and using all the new stuff, so I think it would be super cool if I worked at a job where all that was possible.
- Customer Support – I love helping other people and seeing smiles on faces, and this job requires human interaction which is perfect because its something I enjoy.
- Leadership Role – I believe I am a strong leader and this job requires a strong leader. Being a manager means that you are able to be responsible for the actions of your staff.
2. Give 3 reasons why you would not like this job:
- Long hours, 9 AM to 6 PM – I do not enjoy sitting in one spot for more than a couple of hours. This job requires you to sit at a desk for at least 8 hours.
- Slow/No sales – Occasionally on days, you may not get any customers, and there is nothing YOU can do to fix that.
- Stressful – Often it gets extremely stressful and really busy, I am not good with coping with stress and deadlines.
3. Is this job for you? Why or why not?
I don’t think this job is for me, I want to be a profession in medicine and sciences. My dad doesn’t advise me to work in sales/retail because it is mentally draining. Although I liked working with my dad for the day, I don’t think I could work in this industry for a long peiod of time.
4. Explain the value of TYKTWD experience in relation to your ideas about your post-secondary (after high school) plans. (training, education, travel, work?)
I believe the value of TYKTWD experience is to find your profession, to learn the importance of work and learning how to be successful in the future. My ideas for my post-secondary plans are to become a lifeguard, graduate from high school with a scholarship and maybe travel, then head off to college and university, get 2 degrees then head to medical school and start workinh by the age of 28. Hopefully, my plans will follow through.
FINAL CONCLUSION:
This day has taught me a lot, for the emotions felt, to the practical things you learn to do in every job. Today I learned a lot about customer interaction and I believe that this will help me in the future. And lastly I would like to say think you for the wonderful experience. 🙂
