After hearing Elizabeth tell her story of the Rwandan Genocide, it showed me that not only was it a time of sorrow but it also brought about a time of togetherness. In Elizabeth’s presentation, she talked about forgiveness and how it brought social change. She talked about her people and how after the genocide, they were accepting and open-hearted. This is such an important lesson learned from The Rwandan Genocide. They should the world that even after the slaughtering of family, bloodshed, and fear, happiness and gratitude can be learned, and found. The part that stuck with me the most would be the part that she talked about how even though she remembers her family being slaughtered she still chooses to help those same people that did her and her family wrong. Elizabeth helps her community, she builds schools, libraries and collects a variety of donations.I believe Elizabeth is strong and I believe her story is ver empowering and inspiring.
