Core Competency: Creative Thinking

One area that I had worked very well on was Creative thinking. I generated my ideas onto One Note and from there chosen which idea was the very best. My groups machine is the ultimate drying machine and it is a dryer that you use after a shower. It will dry you in seconds and you will come out feeling amazing. I had done some research to find if this machine has ever been invented but there was no sign saying it has been. I generated the idea of dryer that you can use after a shower by going through a car wash. Our machine is very much like a car wash because you use soap, then water, and last you dry. By doing research on my groups machine I was able to learn many new things and come across new challenges. My partner and I combined our strategies together to create a scale model and a poster board. We wanted our machine to be very nice and relaxing because when you use a towel you don’t always feel satisfied afterwards, so I decided to change that and create the Ultimate Drying Machine. I have had many interesting things happen during this project, and maybe over time I can pursue this project and make a living from it.

How I made my ideas work?

I made my ideas come to life by talking with my group member about strategies we could use to make this machine come to life. At the start we had a hard time deciding which invention we should do. We had changed our minds a couple of times, but at the end I believe we made the best choice. I made by machine work by constantly thinking of challenges and how we can overcome the problem. I had built the skills that to make my machine work and I succeeded by accomplishing it after a few times. My group took many steps and attempts to make this machine happen. We accomplished something great through the time that we had and in perspective it came out perfectly.

Ways I want to improve are…

Some ways that I would like to improve on for next time is probably communication because overall, we did not have much class time to work on this assignment, so we would have to communicate through texting and voice chat, which was a little hard at times. Another thing that I wish to improve on for next time is questioning and analyzing because while we were presenting our product to teachers, they would ask us question, to where we would not know the answer because we didn’t investigate far enough, so for next time I would like to investigate more into my project and have more time to communicate with my partners.
