Core Competencies Reflection

I can get new ideas or build on other people’s ideas, to create new things within them. I showed this by using my prior knowledge on how English is spoken in the modern time. When writing the Shakespeare play in common English I found that we came into clashes in the group because different people had separate ideas. However, I combined the different ideas and attempted to reach a fair solution.I can work with others to achieve a common goal; I do my share. I showed this by completing a third of the project when the rest of my group members were not capable of doing. However, there was a backlash that occurred when a group member replaced everything I completed and made it their way. I believe this caused problems with our presentation and caused tension in the group. In the future I would like to work on communication within my group. Not communicating with each other caused a ripple in our project and concluded in handing in something that I was not proud of. I will also work on spreading the work out evenly in the group so that the work is completed quicker and with everyones cooperation.

Core Competency Reflection:

Completing this literature piece I was able to show my learning in the communication part of core competencies. I was able to easily communicate my ideas and thoughts in this story. As I began editing I developed on my ideas and increased the understanding for the audience reading the short story. Using the plot graph obtained the information I wanted to express and planned out the structure of the story. I then interpreted my ideas into my written story. I was able to get my paper peer edited by two other people. We were able to work together and review the proper tasks needed to be completed.

Reflection: Going through this project I have learned more about the problems our environment is having caused by humans. I needed to use good decision making skills by determining important aspects that needed to be in my project. I also used project management to bring together all the important parts of the project together. I also used persuasive communication to answer the inquiry question in full depth.

Industrial Revolution Info graph

Reflection: I truly started understanding the industrial revolution after this project because it made me dig deeper and deepen my understanding about why the industrial revolution occurred. I had to use good communication skills to get my point across and to share my thinking. I also used project management to bring together all the aspects of the project that is essential. I also used decision making because I had to determine what was important and essential to being in my project, compared to what is not needed for my info-graph.

 I do not believe being a physician is a job I would like to pursue because as I grow up I have realized a priority for me is going to be my family and the time put into the job will be a vast amount. I want to  be able to spend the most amount of time possible with my family and with this kind of job I do not believe I will be able to pursue that.

4.  Explain the value of TYKTQ experience in relation to your ideas about your post secondary? 

As a student not everything is very hands on and you are not capable to see different workplaces. Being able to go to a real workplace and seeing how jobs and how the real world works will help you decide on what region of work you are interested in and want to pursue.

 

French Revolution Radio Report

Reflection: This project made me understand the French Revolution in more depth. I had to use creative thinking to finish this project. I did not finish the project and my group was not helping me finish this project. I first then finished the project by myself and I just changed the way I spoke. My friend then asked to join my group so I cut out some of my parts and gave her a character. I also used good conflict resolution by taking action into my own hands and finishing the project by myself. I did not want an incomplete in one of my classes.

Reflection: Doing this project has showed me hands on how to make a science report thorough. I used analytical thinking to make logical decisions towards any problem I came across. When the wood bugs were first placed in the Petri dish they did not move and give us the observations we needed to conduct our experiment. I decided to make the Petri dish more like the wood bugs natural habitat. When I did this the change was noticeable right away. The wood bugs chose a side and we were able to conduct our experiment easily.
