Personally, I believe my digital footprint is quite public compared to other. When searching my name up a photo of me came up in images and several social media platforms of mine also appeared. None of which is incredibly personal but by searching my name up you are easily able to find me and who I am. Your digital footprint affect a lot about your future. Whatever your digital footprint may be it will stay online forever. For example, when I begin applying for universities the school looks at all the different aspects of a student; including their digital footprint. Schools look at your social media to see if the candidate is representing any bad behaviour that can affect the school. As well as universities, when applying for a job the ones hiring you will also look at your social media platforms. Looking at studies it shows that sixty three percent of people get denied from a job regarding something inappropriate on their social media platforms. There are different parts to look at when uploading anything onto social media. Stepping back and asking yourself “will this impact me in the future?”  Asking yourself this will make you farther understand what you should be posting and what you should n0t be. Another strategy to help you keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe would be trying to figure out what you would feel if this was being said to you or if you were seeing this post as another individual. Being able to do so will change the way you see things as you upload them and add them to your digital footprint. To my fellow students I would just say that whatever your digital footprint may be it will always be there for the rest of your life. Thinking before your actions will tremendously help your future.
