Boxer Response

When Boxer’s loyalty was betrayed, I was angry and upset. Unfortunately, I was not shocked. Boxer has been nothing but hardworking in the text, and even through his injuries and old age, worked harder than ever. He had then “gone out alone to drag a load of stone down to the windmill,” and fell (66). I was angry because they sent him away to be slaughtered, when he should have been praised for his hard work and had a peaceful retirement and death. However, I was not shocked because Napoleon had been lying to all the animals for a long time about most things, and even in the beginning, when Boxer was skeptical and questioned the rules, it was implied Squealer did not like him.
