Before grade 9 I didn’t participate in many activities outside of school. However, since I started grade 9 I have been interested in starting an activity in my free time. Recently, I started to practice piano on my own time because of my interest in music. Although I only started to practice piano recently, I had been interested in music and playing a musical instrument. Before I started practicing piano, when I was younger I tried other activities such as basketball. I also experimented with some instruments before deciding to try piano. Eventually I decided to stick with piano because it was what felt right to me.
The main reason why I enjoy piano is because of how it sounds. One of the reasons I took interest in practicing piano is because hearing the songs I know and being able to play them in a different way is enjoyable. Another reason why I enjoy practicing piano is because it feels rewarding to do something right. After lots of trial and error, it feels rewarding to finally play what I was practicing. One other reason I enjoy piano is because it was one of the first outside of school activities I enjoyed. As I previously mentioned, I tried other activities. However, piano was the first one to entice me. These are the main reasons I like to practice piano and while I am not very good, I still enjoy playing.
