Hi, my name is Melia and this is my blog. Here is where I will be telling you some small interests I have. One of my constant interests is music. It always has been and most likely will always be. To be more specific, I mean singing. Last year, a small group of my friends and I formed a band mainly meant for fun seeing as all of us were interested in leaning about and exploring paths in music. The band really helped me learn the reaches of my vocal abilities and got me interested in learning how to play other instruments. Though the band no longer exists, my passion for music goes on. Besides this, I have other things that trigger my interest, including traveling. There are many things I enjoy about it; seeing all the amazing landmarks and sights, trying new foods, and getting involved in the culture. I myself have been to a rather large amount of places, more than most people have been to. Seeing so many different places has given me the right to express how different each country and city is, all of them however, are incredibly beautiful. Something that I have been involved in a little more recently is Volleyball. I have a friend who plays professional volleyball and who got me interested in it after we played a small innocent game. It now happens to be one of my favourite sports to both play and watch. Though I myself don’t play professional, I still enjoy the game quite a bit and am hoping to learn more about it and how to play better. The last thing I would like to share about is more of something I do for pure entertainment, and that is watching movies or television shows. It’s not exactly educational or has many learning purposes, but it’s something I’ve always loved, whether or not it be an old or new film. The people and stories involved in them is what makes me so interested. Fictional television is like having a story told but your eyes are what’s listening. Depending on the movie, you have the option to connect with the character or plot except you know it will lead to something positive and I think that’s what makes them so special cause it can offer you comfort in knowing that any situation has the possibility for a happy ending.

 

I chose this quote because I thought was a very emotional and personal thing that I could relate to on some level. I know what it feels like to be going through a hard time and so you isolate yourself, but when you do and your alone with all your thoughts, it can be very overwhelming, therefore making silence very loud

 

This is my favourite video for a few reasons. This video is one of many apart of a series on the Ellen Show that only come out during the fall and I watch the when the season comes to get into the spirit of Halloween. I watch these video at any time of the year as well when I feel I need a good laugh. They are simply meant to put a smile on my face.

I took this photo of 3-4 years ago, and I chose this photo because it is shocking to think that I got to take this photo before this historic monument burned down. It is amazing that I got to see the original Notre Dame Cathedral, and what’s ironic about it is that while I was there, I took a photo of every poster explaining the growth and state of the cathedral over the many years it took to transform it into the building it was before the fire. This impacted me because it was my father who took me to see this landmark, and I had one day hoped to show my own children, only now, it will have to be the remodeled version that took the original’s place, and it will be like I’m seeing it for the first time, too.
