Self-Introduction:

My full name is Yena Lee and I am a grade 9 student at Heritage Woods Secondary School. I’ve been playing both the violin and flute for 4 years, and am part of the Coquitlam Orchestra and the school’s Junior Concert Band. I enjoy listening to music, as Kpop is one of my current interests. My favourite band/group is BTS and was born in Canada and with a Korean background. As for sports, I’ve been doing Hapkido for the past 5 years and I am focusing on lifeguarding after completing all my swimming courses. For food, I enjoy spicy dishes and sushi, with bubble tea being one of my guilty pleasures. Meeting my friends, baking, and watching movies are examples of what I like to do in my spare time. My favourite subjects are math and art. Being interested in clothing, would like to work in the fashion/art industry in the future. I hope to learn much during my coming years in high school!

This saying speaks out to me the most because it provides calmness and assurance in problematic situations. This quote encourages that people should focus on the present and not worry or stress themselves about the future, because as said, “What is meant will find a way”.

As mentioned earlier, baking is one of my hobbies. Macarons are my all time favourites; delicious but difficult to make. This recipe/video is for making milk-flavoured macarons and is one that I used – with successful results – in the past. Additionally, this channel provides videos that are helpful but also relaxing to watch.

This is a music video from a group named Twice – for their new comeback called “Feel Special”. I have been captivated by Twice’s music recently, and this song goes into my top choices. The music video is put together stunningly, and the melody of this song gives off cheerful, lighthearted energy. Moreover, the effort they exert into their dances and music inspires me to look up to them and work harder.

This picture is a poster from a Korean drama series I’ve been into called “Hotel Del Luna”. This series aired from July 13 – September 1 this year, and is a fantasy story with bits of comedy that takes place in a hotel for spirits and ghosts. It has changed my perspective on death and life and brings me into a mystical, unknown world every episode. I would definitely recommend!

I chose Youtube as my favourite website because I spend a lot of time watching videos – both for entertainment and learning. I am able to access videos from celebrities; see behind the scenes of different movies and shows; discover new recipes; and have fun viewing content from various creators.
