Intro
Hello! My name is Anika. I am a student here at Heritage Woods Secondary School. I am an athletic, outgoing person. In the winter I play female hockey, with the Tri-City Predators Female Ice Hockey Association. As well as playing hockey, I recently earned my level 1 in officiating hockey. I am also apart of the Port moody Aquarians summer swimming club, and look forward to joining school swimming and other activities at school. In my spare time, (when I am not playing sports) I enjoy reading, watching netfix and youtube, and hanging out with my friends and family. I have two little sisters who also enjoy the same sports as I do! That’s all for now 🙂
Quote
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain – Vivian Greene
I think this quote is very inspirational and describes my outlook on life. Having a positive attitude is very important, no matter what you are doing or going through. This quote is basically telling you to, “look at the glass half full.” I try to apply it when things aren’t going so well and always look towards the positive outcome of every bad situation.
Common sense is not so common – Voltaire, the french enlightenment philosopher I learned about this quote while studying the French Revolution last year. I added it here because I thought it was interesting and true.
Clip
Either we heal as a team… or we are going to crumble. “Inch by inch, play by play, till we’re finished.” -Any Given Sunday (movie)
A football pregame speech
Though I am not a football player, I still think this is my favourite YouTube clip. Before my first hockey tryout (ever) my Dad showed me this clip. He said it would “pump me up.” I don’t think it did. Still, before every big game, tournament, or race in a swim meet, somehow it pops up on his phone and he calls me over to go watch it. I think some of the words in this speech are also true in life. He says, “Life’s this game of inches.” Taking life/goals and sports one inch, one shift, or one step at a time, is really good advice that I think everyone should follow.
Website
https://www.youtube.com/Â -Youtube is my favourite website because it is a fun source of entertainment. I like to watch videos about; sports, life, DIY’s, & people who vlog their daily life. They are usually really funny! Sometimes I like to watch funny videos with my family.
Picture
This is a picture of the Canadian women’s hockey team, winning first at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014. As a hockey player I loved watching them this year at the 2018 Olympic games. although theyy lost, it was a close game and the U.S. won in a shootout! I chose this picture, because I hope one day I can play high level hockey like them.
You have done a good job constructing your page and have integrated media and text quite well. You could earn a better mark by providing more detailed explanations about your image, and favorite website. Additionally you can also improve upon the presentation of your site by eliminating the excessive amount of space between some of your text. Fix these changes and email me the URL in order to receive a higher grade on this assignment. 3.5/5
