Communicating
I find that as I relate my strengths to the core competencies, speaking tends to by my best core competency for communicating. I believe this because I feel incredibly natural and comfortable in front of a classroom when I have presentations. On top of that, I greatly enjoy classes that include debates and discussions about history and project presentations that can display my interest or passion in a topic. One area in communication that I would consider improving is reading because I don’t think I read enough books or any real literature to truly be the strongest in that field but I’d love to be better.
Creative Thinking
I feel that ideas for things I do come pretty freely to me throughout my days. Coming up with something for a project or for a drawing for example, are typically simple and easy for me. My best way for getting ideas usually centres around how I am feeling or my determination to make something new. For example, I play an acoustic guitar and I love to experiment with new ideas that I make myself so that I can eventually make a song. When I do this however, I must be determined so I can keep trying without losing motivation too quickly. Music for me is an incredible motivator to try new things and experiment with myself which I greatly value.
Personal Awareness and Responsibility
In terms of my personal awareness, I find that I am incredibly self aware and I usually understand why I feel things. On top of that, I think I am also a really good self motivator. When I am discouraged about anything, I find it easy to remember just how much I can accomplish even if it requires a little more work just based of my previous experiences and I find it easy to motivate myself so I can push my way into success. One of my personal learning goals is to be a better reader as I don’t read enough. I chose this because I haven’t really been able to experience the possible fantastic stories that are hidden behind many book covers. I believe that the best way to improve in this field is to simply read more books. Specifically only a few a month at the beginning but I would like to get to read maybe even a book a week at some point.
