Core Competency Used: Creative Thinking

I used Creative thinking to come up with ideas that would attract the reader but still looked formal. This proved to be a difficult task, as I had I vision of what I wanted the poster to look like but I had to make it look like something from the 19th century. I ended up crossing posters that I found online (like the American war poster), and put them together to make a poster that fit the criteria. Another task that required me to use creative thinking was when I had to photoshop Uncle Sam so that he was wearing a beaver skin hat instead of a fedora which would have not been popular at the time. Something else that I feel required me to use Creative thinking was the logo of the “Hudson’s Bay Company”. I conquered this task by printing out a black and white copy and tracing it onto our poster, and I must say I think I did a pretty great job of it.

With any project, there are going to be problems or ways that one could improve on, (as we are not perfect) and on this assignment, I could have improved my poster in a few. One is that if I had drafted a rough copy I could have filled up more space, another was If I made the letters hallow I could have added colour, giving it a pop.
