Core Competency: Communication

During our social studies project, I did not know what to do at first. However, I asked a group member and was ale to receive the proper help I needed. I was able to communicate my problems and solve them through confronting a group member. When we were coming up with ideas of how to do the project, I had a general understanding of what I wanted to do, but I still listened to my group members as we worked together to incorporate our ideas into one that suited all of our tastes. What I could work on next time is to communicate how the work is being spread out among the group members. Because we did not do this, I ended up doing most of the work. When Mr. Chaffee asked for the percentages of work each group member put in, I was unsure of how to present it in a way that was accurate without coming off as arrogant or full of myself to my other group members. In the end, we talked about it respectfully and logically and ultimately decided on certain percentages for each person.

  1. 3 – You have made a good start in posting your assignment. You have added a reflection which is based around the core competencies but could add more information/explanation describing the process by which this assignment has led you to a new understanding of your skills and abilities.

  2. 4 – Good work. You have integrated your media into your page and have done a very good job on your reflection. You have made attempts to incorporate the language of the core competencies into your write up and have considered your development and growth as a learner in completing this assignment.
