Hi, my name is Mackenzie, I am a grade 9 student attending Heritage Woods. I am very excited about my first year of high school. I am looking forward to new experiences and making more friends. Outside of school I enjoy hanging out with friends as well as playing sports. Such as, soccer and field hockey. I am hoping to tryout for the school soccer team this spring as well. Durning the winters when I am not playing sports. I am usually skiing with my family, making new memories. Another thing I love to do, is travel. Over many years I have traveled to, many places in the U.S, as well as Europe. I love experiencing new cultures with the people I love. I live with my mom, my dad, my older sister, as well as my Grandma, that i normally call Yiayia. Which is Greek for grandma. I took this photo of my dog not too long ago, I chose this photo because, it is one of my favourite pictures, out of the hundreds of pictures I take of her. This photo is important to me because, my dog means a lot to my family and I. She is a Shiba Inu and we have had her for 10 years now. Tika is very shy around others, besides my mom, my dad, as well as my sister and I. She does not like going for walks however, she does love eating. Tika has been in the majority of my life and i have grown to love her very much.

I am very passionate about soccer, I have grown to love this sport over the many years I have been playing. Which is why I chose this website, this is where I can check my team standings. I started playing soccer when I was just four years old, and I am continuing to playing now. I am always looking to improve and learn new things about this sport. I have played on multiple different teams, all at different levels as I get older. Soccer has always been significant part of my life. When I am playing soccer I feel apart of a team and my problems disappear.

I chose the quote “Rise above the storm and you will find the sunshine,” because I find it inspiring. This is one of my favourite quotes, because It always reminds me to never give up, although there may be a rough patch in your life, if you rise above and see the good in people and or things, you will attract more positivity into your life. You only live once, you must live your life to the fullest and look past the negativity, past clouds, rain, thunder and lightning there will be clear skies and sunshine.

This is one of my favourite videos, because I love to travel. In the summer of 2018 I traveled around Europe, with family and friends for a month. I had a lot of fun experiencing new cultures and making more memories with the people I love. Along our cruise we stopped in a few different places, one of my favourites was Santorini. My moms side of the family is greek, and i have family living in Athens. Which made experiencing the greek culture was a lot of fun for me. This was one of my favourite trips, and I hope to continue travelling in the future as well.
