In this project I got to create a flag that represented my heritage.  Here I decided to combine my German Heritage and my Portuguese heritage in one flag.  Afterwards I reflected on how both sides of my heritage are important to me.  In this project I used creative thinking to decide how I wanted to represent both sides of my heritage.  How I ended up doing this was by mimicking the style of the Portuguese flag which was cut off center to transition colours green to red and then replace the red of the Portuguese flag with the stripes of the German.  I decided to keep the Portuguese crest in the photo so that the Portuguese side was still distinct enough compared to the German side.

My biggest strength in the project was being able to reflect back on why the sides of my heritage meant something to me.  That was a strength because I do actually feel that my heritage is meaningful.  For next time I’d want to improve my artistic ability by bringing in my own supplies and colouring with those so that the flag itself looks more polished.
