About Me

Hey there, my name is Sophia.  I’m the oldest child in a family of two kids, and because of the small age gap my younger sister is practically my best friend.  I spend all of my free time with her.  I have yet to learn how to fully break out of my shell when I’m not at the house with her, but I’m trying to get there.  Meanwhile, some of my favourite activities are drawing, playing piano, and listening to music.  I used to play piano in one of my middle school’s rock bands, but now that that’s over I’m looking for a new band.  This year I hope that I can branch out more and meet some new people who share my interests or are just fun to be around.

One of my favourite quotes:

“If music be the food of love, play on.”

That quote comes from Shakespeare’s play called Twelfth Night.  It’s meaningful to me because in my eyes it explains how music fuels love, like how food can fuel us.  The quote states how if playing music or listening to music feeds into your love, keep playing it.  I myself, am really into playing and listening to my music so for me this short quote means a lot.  It inspires me to keep playing music as long as it feeds into my overall happiness.

My favourite video:

This video made by a physics Youtube channel explains the logic behind different methods of time travel in fiction.  I think this video is interesting because of the way it explains that logic while also providing you with a video of diagrams and models to showcase it.  I also find it cool whenever someone is able to combine pop-culture and science in an entertaining way.  As a fan of a few of the stories shown in the video I felt like I was able to learn something new about those stories and the different ways they incorporated something as fascinating as time travel into them.

My chosen photo of meaning:

This photo of a famous piece of street art done by Banksy is very powerful in my eyes.  Because of the way the man was painted in the picture you’d think he’d be throwing a brick or grenade of some sort, but instead he’s throwing flowers.  To me it represents some sort of need for peace in this world.   Instead of sending someone something that represents violence and hatred we can send them something more hopeful like a bouquet of flowers.  In a way, this is saying that while other people are throwing rocks and weapons we can be less violent and try to find peace.

  1. Sophia, I really like how you have integrated various media (video, images, links) into your post. You have done a very good job constructing your page and commenting about yourself and your interests whilst still being mindful of your online presence. Good work.
