Core Competency: Creative Thinking
I build on others ideas and add new ideas of my own, or combine other people’s ideas in. I think that I achieved this goal when we were coming up with an idea for this project. When we were coming up with a product that we wanted to make. We ended up deciding on a small tracking device, but we couldn’t just do that because that was already a real life thing. I decided that it would be cool if we could add something new like being able to stick it to things. Thus not only building off my partners ideas but also building off real life products.
I get ideas that are new to my peers. I think that I achieved this goal in a few different ways. I was able to generate a lot of ideas during the brainstorming phase. I was able to add new interesting ideas to other ideas of different products that we were doing. I also was able to come up with unique ideas that we were able to use for our marketing. One idea I had was using an Instagram tag that if you scanned it, it would take you right to the Instagram page.
I have deliberate strategies for quieting my conscious mind. (E.G. by walking away). I was able to come up with a few different things. One thing that I would do is taking a break. Taking a break would help me destress and then I could come back to it later and keep going. Another strategy I had was listening to music. Music keeps my calm and focused while I work. I think that doing these things really ended up helping me finish the project well and on time.
Ways I want to improve are…
One thing that I would like to improve one is procrastinating less. It is a problem that I have had pretty much the entire time I have been in school. Even though I still got this in on time, I think it would still be goo
