Catching Fire (Hunger Games)

Script

Plot
When Kathiss Everdeen’s younger sister is chosen for a pageant called the Hunger Games in
which contestants fight to death, she voluntarily takes the place of her sister. During the
competition she makes some important friends, but also some enemies. She has to fight her
way through the games for not only her family and her best friend Gale, but the other
tribute from her district, Peeta Mellark, her “star-crossed lover. Together Katniss and Peeta
navigate their way through the arena, dreading when one tribute will defeat all the others.
In the end they the last two tributes are Katniss and Peeta, but they manage to find a way in which both
can either survive or die. The spectators wanted a winner so both won, and they then started something
bigger than they thought.

First picture new House

I came back home after Peeta and I won the Hunger Games and the games changed my entire life; now
we never have to witness the hunger anymore. My mom, sister and I now live in the Victor´s Village in
our new modern house. I also had a visitor which was President Snow.
President snow: Hello Katniss, Congratulations on your victory (Ironically).
Katniss: (I really didn´t know how to answer so I just said thank you) Thank You.
President Snow: Katniss, what you did at the Games was appalling. Because of your actions you started
something you can´t handle. If you ever step out of line again, there will be consequences.
Katniss: (What did he mean by consequences? Will he hurt my family or what about Gale, but no it’s
impossible for him to know about Gale and I) …..Ok but…
President Snow: No buts Katniss! I know everything! Did you really think that I didn’t know about you
and your “cousin” Gale? I don’t think you’d want something to tragically happen to him or to your
family.
Katniss: (Oh no that’s impossible for him to know. I thought the forest would be safe and nobody would
see us. He can´t do that but yes, he can because he has the power to do whatever he wants) Please don´t
hurt them, they have nothing to do with this.
President Snow: I just wanted to remind you who has the power. Do you understand?
Katniss: Yes, I understand.
President Snow: Have a good day Katniss and best wishes to your mother. See you at the Victory`s Tour.
Katniss: (I stayed sitting at the dining table after he left. My entire body felt stiff and the only thing I
could think about was Gale and how I hadn’t had the chance to him him after the games. In the afternoon
I packed my backpack and snuck out to go into the forest).

Second picture Forest

Katniss: (I see Gale from afar. I don’t know if I should cry out of joy or grief. I run into his arms and start
crying and for the first time in a long time I feel safe.)
Gale: (I am so happy to have her in my arms) Is everything ok?
Katniss: Right now, everything is fine but the games changed so much. I don’t have to feel hungry
anymore, but I see the dead tributes everywhere and I can´t sleep well. Every time I try to sleep, I have
nightmares.
Gale: Do you want to go hunting to distract you a bit?
Katniss: That would be the best. (We found some turkeys and I start to aim at them but then I see a tribute
instead of the turkeys) I can´t! I can´t! ….
Gale: Katniss shhhh calm down.
Katniss: Sorry Gale, I can´t. Whats going on with you Gale? How is your life? I heard you are working in
the mines. You know what happened with my dad down there , I can´t bear another loss.
Gale: I know Katniss and I can take care of my self. You were in so much more danger at the Games.
Katniss: (If only he knew what danger he was in and because of me, too. This entire meeting also puts
him in danger.) Please take care of yourself, I can´t live without you. Oh its so late, I have to go back
home because tomorrow I have to go to the Victory tour. See you later, take care.

Third picture:

Katniss: (I get on the train and Peeta is already there. I haven´t spoken with him since the games. We have
a long train ride ahead of us so I go to him and start talking.) Hey Peeta, how are you?
Peeta: How do you think I feel? Since the games I haven’t slept a whole night again and then all these
nightmares.
Katniss: I have the same problems. How is your family doing?
Peeta: Ok but it could be better. Katniss, I realized we don’t know very much about each other.
Katniss: Yes, but I think it is better for of us both this way.
Peeta: You can´t say that, come on. What is you favorite colour?
Katniss: Serious? Green and yours?
Peeta: Orange. Look that wasn´t so hard.
Katniss: (I go back to my bedroom and I try to sleep a bit before the Victory Tour starts.
Break
Peeta: Katniss! Katniss! It´s just a dream.
Katniss: (Breath) I have these nightmares every night.
Peeta: Me too. Goodnight.
Katniss: Peeta could you please stay with me?
Peeta: Yes.
Katniss: (Next morning we arrive in the Capitol.)

Fourth picture

Haymitch: Don’t think that these games will be easier. All of the tributs are experienced killers. Let me
give you an overview. From District 1 we have Cashmere and Gloss. Brother and Sister who’ve won the
games back to back. Then there is Wiress and Beetee, who are tech savvy. Finnick won his first game at
fourteen and is the capitol darling. The old woman next to him is Mag. She volunteered for Annie and she
is his mentor, so he will protect her however he can. You have to make friends with someone if you want
to survive. Don’t forget to smile Katniss.

Fifth picture:

Katniss: (Now I can show the jury how good I am with the bow. I think I did a pretty good job in there.)
Haymitch: Katniss great session and I also have great news. Fifty percent of the tributes want to be an ally
to you. So who do you prefer Katniss?
Katniss: I want Beetee, Wiress and Mag and no one else.
Haymitch: Ok, I will tell them that you´re still making up your mind.

Sixth picture:

Katniss: (We are at the Caesar Show, it is the show where every tribute is on a stage and shares something
about themselves. But why am I wearing a Wedding dress?) Really? A wedding dress?
Cinna: Yes, the people love it and you must pretend that you are married. President Snow insisted on it.
Katniss: Ok, but I think it’s a bit too much.
Cinna: You look perfect! Let´s go on stage.
Caesar: I love it. The girl on fire is so cheeky. Turn a bit so we can see your entire dress.

Picture 7

Katniss: (When I start turning around the entire dress catches on fire and turns into a mockingjay.)
Caesar: Uhhhh that is incredible a Mockingjay. Katniss you surprise us every time! But what is with the
wedding?
Peeta: We married in secret, since we wanted time to spend strictly with each other.
Caesar: That is so gorgeous.
Peeta: (We have to stop the games what ever it takes us.) And we… we… are having a child.
Caesar: Thats big news! Let´s have a seat.
Katniss: (I was so happy when the show was over, but tomorrow we are going into the arena.)

Picture 8:

Plutarch: Let the 75th hunger games begin: 10,9…5,4,3,2,1 gong
Katniss: (At this moment so many things were in my head. After the gong, I jumped into the water.)
Finnick: Easy Katniss we are allies.
Katniss: Who told you this?
Finnick: Who do you think, but now we must get out of here. Follow me, I have a place.
Katniss: Run Finnick, the fog is poisoned. Run to the beach. (We make it out. I see Beetee and Wiress)
Finnick: Beetee! Wiress! I think you have more allies.
Wiress: The arena is a clock and at midnight the lightning strikes this big tree there. The lightning could
be our way out. Let´s go there so that Beetee and I can find a way out.
Katniss: A way out? I’m confused.
Finnick: Let´s move. Katniss, it’s no time for questions.

Katniss: (We arrive at the tree and Beetee and Wiress wrap a spool around the tree and give me the spool)
Wiress: We must be far away when the lightning strikes the tree. Katniss, walk as far as you can away and
put the other end of the spool around your arrow and shoot at the top of the roof. We just have this one
chance.

Picture 10

Katniss: (The time was coming for me to shoot. Let it fly. The arrow lands at the top of the roof and the
entire arena starts to break. After this I don’t know what happened, but I wake up in a plane. I see
Haymitch.)

Picture 11:

Haymitch: We made it! You made it! Now we can focus on the bigger picture, the REVOLUTION.
Katniss: I don´t understand. Haymitch what is going on?
Haymitch: You will get your answers soon, but for now sleep a bit and take a break.
It is the beginning of the end and the revolution can now begin.

Good Place

My favorite character up until now is Michael since he has no idea what is going on in his own village. I also like his blunt sense of humour in the first episode. The other characters are quite good too, but I do not like their personality as much as Michael’s. The character I prefer the least is Janson the monk because I do not know a lot about him, and he does not speak in the first episode.

The entire first episode was filled with irony. For example, a stoner kid from the 1970s get 91% right about what happens after death while all of the major religions were only 5% right. Besides, it is very ironic when Michael shows Eleanor her new house with many clown pictures because Michael thinks she likes clowns, however, in reality she does not like clowns. We know this is a big misunderstanding about her personality.

The main point of this first episode is to show what life after death is and that humans are separated into good and bad places. Until your death you collect positive and negative points, and with this final score, the “boss” decides if you are going to the good or bad place. All we know about the bad places is what we hear in the audio file, which is just screaming. Furthermore, the audience knows that something isn´t right because Eleanor isn´t that good of a person as Michael thinks she is. There is a misapprehension about Eleanor but only she and Chidi know about it.

The first episode was very amusing and interesting because it is be possible that our life after death is similar to what the TV show offers. It is humorous because you can´t say any cuss words in this good place. The language in this episode was easy to understand because they didn´t have difficult accents. Until now it corresponds with my humour and it is funny to see a not so good person among the exemplary people.

A heated floor has many advantages. When it is cold, you can put on the heat and the entire house heats up faster than if you have a normal heater. Also, you will feet will no longer be cold, as the floor is warm and heats them up. Therefore, you can lie on the floor and enjoy the heat. Everybody who has experienced a heated floor will never return to a normal one.

This house has the newest and safest digital security available on the market today. This security system includes digital finger print key access, cameras with face scanners, digital code locks on every door to enter the house and an alarm system in case someone tries to break into the house.

This automatic laundry lady gives you more time to focus at work. You just have to throw your dirty clothes into the laundry room and the LL will do it for you. Life is easier and smarter with this technology.

Solar roof

This roof supplies the whole house with electricity and it is environmentally friendly. With this roof you will save quite substantial sum of money on electricity bills.

Sound speaker

The entire house has sound speakers which you can control with your phone. You can choose where the music will play, and how loud.

Automatic lights

Are you tired to put your light on and off then the new automatic light system is perfect for you. It turns on just because of your movement. It also includes many different features.

Hello, my name is Benedikt and I am a competitive tennis player from Germany. I´m a German international student who visits the grade 11 at Heritage Woods Secondary. I´ve grown up in a house with my family of 5(my mom, dad, brother and my grandmother) and my two cats. My entire family is very interested in sports so we often go out and play tennis, badminton or some other kind of sport together. Moreover, I love to hang out with my friends outside. My older brother is my idol who gives me a lot of motivation and power, I think without him I would not be where I am now. I think the majority of my friends would describe me with these words:  a sporty, funny, industrious and inquisitive boy who likes to improve himself every day.

My favourite quote:

“you get pity as a gift; you have to earn envy” -Robert Lembke-

My mother told me this quote often because everyone has to work hard for their own success. When you think about this sentence, it tells you so much. People are only jealous when somebody has something they don’t or can do something they can´t do. This should be taken as a sign that you are doing something right. It´s easier to moan about other people’s achievements if you are too lazy to work hard in your own life. Most people don`t see the entire process and how hard people have worked for their successes. So, before you feel envious of another person’s success, take a moment to think about how hard they have worked for that to earn your envy, and what you can change in your life or work harder at to be as successful.

This clip is very funny in my opinion because it includes a daily experience. These days many people can make the mistake of misdialing a phone number. This comedian (Jay Larson) describes a situation where someone has called a wrong number. Instead of ignoring the call, he started a conversation. Moreover, the random guy had no idea that he was speaking to the wrong person. Jay pretended to know what he was talking about. The funny thing about the whole video, is that he makes the stranger think he’s talking to the right person on the phone. This is exactly my taste in humor.

Netflix is a website with many movies and series. Hence, Netflix is perfect for a movie night with friends or the family. It offers a lots of diverse movies. I often enjoy Netflix in the evening. Furthermore, I sometimes watch a documentary while studying.  Also, Netflix is suitable for all age groups.

This is my favourite picture:

This is a photo of my brother and I after his bachelor education. On this day my family and I were there and we were so proud of him. This picture also shows my brother and I have a very close relationship. My older brother is one of the most relevant people in my life. I like this picture of us because it was a lovely day and an important moment for him. When I look at this image today, I still get flashbacks back to that day.
