Extracurricular Badminton

Badminton

Badminton has been in my life for a long time. I have played badminton since I was little, started training when I was 10 years old. Since then, I have badminton practice at least 3 times a week, each of the practice is 2h 30mins. During each of the training, there is conditioning, footwork, and skills training. During each of the training sections, there are many times that it is hard to get through, but in the end, I am glad that I went. There is usually a game every month. But before each of the games, there are specific practices that we will do. For example, for the people that are doing singles, they will work on attack and for the doubles people, they will work on communication and cooperation.

Badminton is my favorite sport. Badminton is different than some of the other sports such as basketball and soccer. Badminton is different because there are singles and there is a double. Both types of games require strategizing, attack and defensive skills and footwork. Badminton is a fast sport and that is why it is hard to play but I enjoy the time while I am playing it. One of my favorite moves is smashing the bird on to the side of the court because it is really fast, and it makes the opponent have dive for the birdy. Mix doubles are also one of my favorite sport because I only need to cover the frontcourt which means I only need to net shot, block, smash, and drive.

Badminton for most of the families is just one or two children play that sport, but it is different for my family, my whole family plays badminton. It started with my dad playing, then I started, then my mom, and then my little brother. Playing badminton doesn’t only mean for myself but also means that my family could connect together. During the time that I played badminton, I have been able to keep in good condition for my body heath and I am really relaxed when I play. Badminton has helped me in many ways. For example, the reason that I don’t get tired in basketball is that I have a lot of conditioning from badminton.
