Current Lab

Personal Awareness and Responsibilities

Self-regulation has been something that I have worked on for a long time, which means I am better at it than before. Most of the times I can recognize my emotions. For example, during the lab there was a part where I didn’t know what to do for the conclusion, and I know I was going to feel stressed, so I took a break and did something different, and that usually take a walk, drink some water, or do a different homework. I think taking a break from something that I am stuck is a good idea for me because sometimes ideas will suddenly come up when I am doing something else. I will always try to persevere with challenging tasks. Although sometimes during the lab I was given a part by myself, and it was hard knowing what to put down on the Sway, but I pushed through and got information from online and finished my part. I can also take ownership of my goals, learning, and behavior. For example, my goal for this lab was to make sure our group has all the parts that are said on the rubric on the Sway, and each of the parts was done to the best of our ability, and I think we did that well. Self-regulation is not the only thing that I can say I am good at; well-being is something else that I am good at.  

Well-being is something that is not as good as self-regulation, but it is something that I can do. I can make good choices that will benefit my well-being and keep me safe in my community including my online interactions. During the lab, I was very careful with the lightbulbs because I didn’t want to break the bulbs, and broken glass is dangerous for me, and everyone else. I use strategies to find peace in stressful times. Even though, lab write-ups are not as fun as doing the lab, but I took a deep breath and still managed to put the lab together. I will always try my best to sustain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. For example, when I was doing the write-up at home by myself, sometimes I will not move away from the laptop for a long time, so I always make sure that in each hour there is a time where I get up stretch and move my eyes around even if it is sore. Well-being is something that was improved during the lab, I think self-determination is something that I need to work on.  

Parts of self-determination is a little hard for me, but some parts are fine. Showing a sense of accomplishment and joy was not really shown in the current lab project. During this project, I didn’t really show a lot of sense of accomplishment and joy, so for the next project I think I will show more than this project. I didn’t really imagine and work to change myself and the world. I didn’t think about that in this project because I didn’t think about changing myself and the world, but I will think about it for future labs. I celebrated a little for my efforts and accomplishments. This happened when Tiffany and I finish our parts of the lab, and I will celebrate more for future labs. There parts that I need to work on for self-determination, but overall, the lab went smoothly.
