Propaganda poster: Cloning                                     Kimiya Khatibi

The type of cloning we are referring to in our poster is the cloning of organs, and full humans. The three pieces of Propaganda we used in our poster were an emotional appeal, card stacking as well as Name – Calling. We used the color red to indicate urgency and bring fear to viewers. We tried to sway the readers to see the subject the way we do, we only showed one viewpoint. Name – Calling was used when we associated with killing all humans and causing overpopulation. It’s ironic that immortality something many people would like to have the possibility of could be the death of us all. Immortality would cause overpopulation, which would end humankind, which is why we made immortality a bad result in our Propaganda poster.

Core competencies: Propaganda Poster

Whilst working on this project I did my part and used my time effectively. The core competencies that I think my work best met was communications. I demonstrated working well with others to achieve a common goal; the following is how I showed this competency. My partner and I did and even amount of work, and achieved a common final goal. Ellie and I worked during class and worked outside of class as well, to complete our project. Nonetheless, with more time we could’ve achieved an even better poster. From the beginning of the project, I think I used my communications skills well, I explained my thoughts and point of view on cloning. Ellie justified her thoughts as well, we used good communication skills to decide on the type of cloning we were against.

Ellie was away one day when we had a and I did my best to catch her up and do a good job with the poster. The next day I had basketball and was away, I made sure to show her my progress and gave her my poster in advance. The next day we attempted to make a day we could work together on the weekend. Unfortunately, our schedules did not line up. Our poster was expressed out in a way that I thought people would best be persuaded. Fear is often an element that makes people take action. We both agreed that the words should be in red so that they pop and attract people’s attention, red also indicates urgency. I did my best to hear Ellie’s ideas so that the poster would be a mix of our points of view.

Although I am happy with our final product there is always room for improvement. With more time I would have fixed the coloring to make it the neatest it could be. I would also add more types of propaganda. For example, I would add a symbol at the bottom, saying this message is approved by a company. I would incorporate a public figure with our propaganda poster. Many people believe anything famous people say.
