Introduction To Me:

Hello! My name is Kyla and I am a grade 9 student at Heritage Woods Secondary. So far I have been attending this school for a few weeks and I am already loving it. I’ve recently joined volleyball as an extracurricular activity but unfortunately I not sure if I will be attending any other clubs because of my out of school sports. This year I am playing both rep softball and hockey for the Coquitlam Classics and the Tri-Cities Predators. I have been playing softball since I was little and It remains one of my favorite sports to this day, but as much as I love softball hockey also holds a special place in my heart. Besides sports, In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and going on vacations with my family. One of my favourite trips we have ever gone on was to Hawaii. Everything there is perfect for the food to the surf to the shopping, especially the sunsets, Hawaii is my happy place.

Important Quote:

Since I was little I’ve always admired the quote “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard”. I find it applies to my sports because you could naturally be gifted and talented at say volleyball but still no have any will to work hard and become great. When I am playing sports I think about this quote and it makes me want to work harder and be better than all the other girls. Overall motivates me to work hard in not just sports but anything that involves working hard.

I choose this video from youtube because I think it approperatly represents my passion for baking. I’ve always loved baking, from watching my mom in the kitchen or watching master chief on the food network. Overall nothing beats baking by myself. I can’t think of anything more relaxing and quite frankly more delicious than spending an afternoon surrounded by the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, etc. I would have to say one of my favourite things I’ve ever made was the chocolate cake in the video below. It is a perfect balance between being moist and dense, every layer filled with the perfect combination of strawberries and chocolate, this cake truly is to die for. If however I’m not in the mood for a super sweet dessert, I will make blueberry muffins. They are also another one of my favourite recipes.

Sephora

I couldn’t decide between Brandy Melville and Sephora as my favourite website. As much as I love sports and always being active I have to confess I love clothes and makeup. I could spend hours and hundreds of dollars online shopping at these two stores. With Brandy Melville, my closet is filled with their clothing and my drawers with their jewelry. However, with this company there has been a lot of controversy on their one size fits all. I feel as though they should change this policy to make women of all sized able to shop whenever ever they please. On the other hand with Sephora, there is almost always new products being launched of which I can’t wait to get my hands on. I am most definitely guilty of scrolling on their website during school.

Picture That Has An Impact On Me:

This is my puppy dog Skye and she is truly the light in my life. Almost 8 years ago my black lab/golden retriever dog Dougie passes away from old age and I was devastated. I cried for weeks on end because not only did I grow up with him he was one of my best friends. My house just wasn’t the same without a playful dog running around, then that Christmas I received the best gift I could imagine. My parents had gotten a golden retriever puppy for my brother and I. From that moment forward my life had changed for the better, whenever I need a shoulder to cry on or just need some cuddling time Skye is always there for me. That is why this photo has such a great impact on me, every time I see this image it reminds me of how lucky I am to have such an amazing companion.
