My Reflection:

One of the core competencies that I used during this experiment was critical thinking. To be more specific, developing and designing. While assembling the battering and light bulbs into the circuits we were constantly experimenting with different lightbulb sized and layouts. Through trial and error and figured out the most efficient way to assemble our circuit. This is how I demonstrated that I am able to “experiment with different ways of doing things”.  We had to make sure that when adding new lightbulbs that the remaining portion of the circuit stayed the same for the best results. As well as double-checking that all clamps were properly secured.

During this assignment I also demonstrated how I am capable of analyzing and critiquing my work, to be more specific, I can “reflect on and evaluate my thinking, products, and actions”. While working with my group the four of us at one point were stumped on how to adjust the lightbulb in order for the cells to flow properly. We took a few minutes to reflect on the issue and discuss how to fix the problem. Shortly after we were successfully able to come up with a plan to complete our circuit.

If I did this project again, I would change a couple of things. First, I would plan it out better. My group and I made our process up as we went along, which was much more time consuming and inefficient. It also meant we were forced to rush steps and not complete them to their full ability. Second, I would split up the work better. We didn’t do this, which meant that some people were standing around not knowing what to do, while others were trying to do three things at once. This made everyone really stressed, and certainly didn’t help with efficiency.
