Core Competencies

Creative thinking

Thinking outside the box, being innovative. That opens up more options for school projects and any other projects in future work. While deciding on the pictures for our project, we wanted to keep the door open for as many ideas as possible. My group and I decided to take pictures that will leave tons of space for us to make creative changes and edits. The first picture wasn’t originally taken in a forest but was taken on top of a rock. We had edited this in afterwards giving it a more realistic look. We chose not to take the photo inside of the forest due to time and resources, and we thought that the most creative way to resolve the issue was to edit the background. The second picture’s background wasn’t changed much, but we did add some Renaissance type paintings. We try to be as creative as possible when it came to subtle details that change the aesthetic of the picture.

Improvements can always be made, nothing is perfect. There were multiple times during this project where I struggled with creating new topics and ideas, this slowed down our project. My goal is to always have an idea or at least the foundation for an idea. This will give me the ability to start projects faster, and it will give me a creative edge. This will also help my future partnerships/groups since it will give us the ability to work faster and more creatively. In the future, I hope to have a wider way of thinking, which will give me the chance to give more perspective towards my work. I will also ask for new methods from teachers and peers. I always believe that you can never be too creative.

In the end, I believe that I will use these competencies for the rest of my life. Creative thinking has been very important to my writing and problem-solving. Although it is very important in English, it helps me in math and other subjects. In math, I often need to find a creative way to solve a word problem. Critical thinking is more important in mathematics, but creative thinking does have its role. I have also learned that critical thinking and creative thinking go hand-in-hand. I will continue to use both of these in the future.

    Media and Information:
You have properly integrated your media into your blog and chosen a format which does an excellent job of presenting your assignment. All information clearly relates to the core competency you have chosen. You include several insightful supporting details and/or examples of how you demonstrated the competency.
    Organization:
Reflection is very organized with at least 3 well-constructed paragraphs which do an excellent job of communicating your ideas. Your paragraphs use the language of the core competency to thoroughly describe how you addressed the core competency and how you plan to further apply it in the future.
