Digital Literacy 10

Question 1. How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities? Give at least 2 examples.

A: One example that my digital footprint can affect my future opportunity is that it might ruin my chance at a job because of something that I posted without thinking. It can also ruin my career if it’s really serious. Another example is that my digital footprint can affect my future opportunity is that someone can find too much personal information about me and use the information in many dangerous ways to threaten my future.

Question 2. Describe at least 3 strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.

A: One strategy is that I can question it before I post something. Will I be comfortable with my parents seeing this? Will it give out too many personal information? Can it possibly affect my future in a negative way? If one of those is no, then I probably shouldn’t post it. Another strategy is that I can look at it in another view. What does it reveal about me? Do I want others to know that information? The last strategy is to just not post it, because if I’m thinking about it, then it’s probably best if I don’t.

Question 3. What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?

A: Something that I will definitely share is that you really need to think well before you post, comment, or share something. It will really get you in trouble if you don’t. If you’re not sure, then ask an adult to help you, or just don’t post it. It is really important to keep that in mind before you post anything or share something on social media.

Good job on completing your Digital Footprint assignment. Here is your evaluation:
    Overall message and media –
Message shows a good understanding of your digital footprint. Media works well with your message but the two could complement each other better.
    Analysis –
Good information present; answers are typical and accurate
    Audience –
The final product is received well by the audience but does not elicit a further response to be shared with the outside world.
    Your mark – 4/5
