Act 3, Scene 5

  1. Why are Romeo and Juliet concerned about which bird is singing?
  2. What premonition does Juliet have?
  3. Explain the dramatic irony that occurs between the mother and the daughter.
  4. What is the nurse’s advice to Juliet?
  5. Why does Juliet get so angry at the Nurse’s advice?
  6. What does Juliet plan to do if the Friar can’t help her?
  7. What is the attitude of Capulet toward his daughter in Scenes 4 and 5? Why is he so urgent that the marriage shall be performed in such haste?
