American Revolution Project

The American Revolution was a colonial revolt that started as a result of taxation by the British without including representation of the Thirteen Colonies’ in the British Parliament. From the beginning of the revolt with the passing and enactment of the Stamp Act in 1765, tension between the colonies and the government in London only grew from there as war breaks out between the colonists and the British Empire later in 1775. For my creative project, I chose to draw two posters that spread “disinformation” about the British government in England and encourage patriotism. The first poster (left) is encouraging people to abstain from purchasing the seemingly cheap tea that was taxed by the Tea Act and to dump the tea by the East India Company overboard to send the message to Britain that they do not and will not tolerate “taxation without representation”. The second poster (right) encourages people to fight for their freedom and join the Thirteen Colonies’ militia that was back then called the “Continental Army” over standing idly by and risk the British Empire successfully suppressing the rebellion.

Reflecting on this project, I think that I have done well in most of the project (besides missing the due date). I had chosen what I could do to the best of my ability, and used my creative thinking core competency to outline what I was going to put on my two propaganda posters. Incorporating some elements of critical thinking, I had questioned what is the “most convincing” font in most situations, and incorporated that font to the posters to the best of my ability. However, more problems arose when I was drawing the British flag, doing my best to draw it proportionally accurate and look like the British flag as much as possible …until I remembered that I was drawing the flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and not of the British Empire (which has different proportions). Rather than restarting since I had already coloured most of it in, I decided to just erase the parts that haven’t been coloured in (most notably St. Patrick’s Saltire). There weren’t many other problems other than incorrect proportions on the flag of the British Empire (except the time needed to draw about 25 letters or so in very fancy font). Despite all those challenges, I managed to pull through and complete this project with problem solving skills from my creative thinking skills. If I were to give myself a letter grade, I would give it a C+ or B.

Industrial Revolution Invention Project

Our invention is “Zoom Elite Shoes”. These shoes aim to provide the consumer the best of all worlds, providing unparalleled performance in most sports. The shoes are made of many high-end materials, almost certainly going to last a lifetime. Featuring an auto-lacing system, very comfortable cushioning, reliable traction made of vibranium, a greatly increased running speed and levitation as a bonus, you can expect that you’d be getting the best fit and comfort while being able to run the full 50 km/h that the human body is estimated to be capable without needing to worry about slipping and falling.
We chose our invention as a result of us wanting to make something different while remaining semi-original. It is economical in the sense that while it may seem expensive upfront at $599.99 MSRP, it is a good value when the consumer finds how much of value it is. It is also ethical and environmentally friendly since the production doesn’t require lots of burning of fossil fuels or other fuels that would otherwise pollute the environment, whether it be in the form of dumping of waste into a nearby water source or the atmosphere. You can also expect that investment in our product will be profitable as demand steadily increases.

Overall, the hardest part of the project was probably coming up with an idea, since there were so many inventions we could’ve possibly done, and we needed to settle on one. However, if this invention were to be attempted in real life, you could just expect it to fail. There are many parts of the project that would be impossible in real life, which is basically the entire shoe besides the auto-lacing system. The traction is made of vibranium, and as most know, vibranium is a fictional element that likely could only exist in a parallel universe (since the 8th period of the periodic table of elements is most definitely not going to contain any properties similar to that of vibranium); as for levitation, there has been no evidence of levitation being possible, and alleged levitation events could be explained by natural means such as illusions or hallucinations. Finally, we have got speed upwards of 50 km/h. This estimate of the upper limit that humans could run takes into account even the luckiest of people in the genetic lottery, it’s just simply impossible as of now for someone to exceed 50 km/h as the muscle fibres in the legs are simply not capable of contracting and extending fast enough, as well as the feet are simply not on the ground long enough for higher speeds.

I think our group worked well, as we were able to include at least some of everyone’s ideas to produce a product. I would give the project overall somewhere between a C+ and a B. I believe that we have all done well overall, however, there was definitely more we could’ve added. On top of that reasoning, we had a generally lower accumulated cash invested than everyone else (except for one). For individual marks, I think Santino and Sunny deserve a C+ or B as they did a significant portion of the work, while I deserve a C+ for helping where needed (and accounting for missing a day on the 22nd of November).

Take Your Child to Work Day 2019

Research a career that you are interested in pursuing in the future. Why are you passionate about this career and what does the work entail? What qualifications and/or education will you need to pursue this career? What are the salary expectations for your chosen career? Will this career be in demand in the future? Include images/graphs/charts to help you fully explain your points.

I am interested in becoming an electrical engineering. I am passionate about this career because I enjoy learning about technology and how it works. The career requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and to be registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC). This career will be in demand in the future to replace retiring workers and because of economic growth. This career is also expected to have a salary of about $76,794.

You will also need to find people with whom you can connect who could help you to find out more about your chosen career. Look for people who may be experts in the field and see if there are links to email/social media that might allow you to contact them for more information.

My dad studied electrical engineering in university, although he probably needs to refresh his memory from here and there as his skills hasn’t been put to very much use since he immigrated due to a language barrier.

Find a video that is related to your chosen career. Embed this into your post and explain in detail how this video relates to your chosen career. Be sure to point out any interesting facts or information that is contained within your video.

This video goes over what someone should expect to learn in university or college should they choose electrical engineering as their major, by a person who chose electrical engineering as their major. It goes over what an undergraduate’s curriculum would probably like and shows that electrical engineering is a broad spectrum of individual subfields including (but not limited to) RF (radio frequencies), electronics, power, controls, signals and goes over them a bit one by one.
