2 your digital footprint
a. When applying to a new job, the company will often research your digital footprint. If you don’t ensure your footprint is appropriate and proper you may not receive the job opportunity. Even if your account is private or my friends just tagged me, those images are often discovered. It is essential to be aware of your view online, otherwise you will fail to reach your expectations.
b.Schools are another place where your digital footprint will be tracked. When applying to a school they would like to know who they are accepting, thus they research you. It will not look good on a school if they have students who are criminals, drink, substance abuse, etc… For a school to maintain their reputation they do essentially look at grades, although your footprint is another major part.
c. When applying for a mortgage you will be looked into. the bank wants to know whom they are lending their money out to; if you are reliable, have a good record, etc. If your digital footprint is great they will want to support you and trust that you will pay.
3. strategies
a. Be protective and selective. Anything you choose to put on the internet is ‘fair game’, meaning that even if you obtain a private account someone can still find your information. Be careful of what you put out in the first place, instead of trusting websites. This method will ensure problems will not arise in the fist place.
b. Be wary of your privacy settings. ensure to read what they are carefully and make sure they are activated. Checking up on them once in a while is a good idea as well, they could unsuspectingly dis activate. Even if you are public for 30 minutes, your footprint may be effected.
c. Defend your reputation. If someone has said negative things about you don’t be afraid to fight back. comment about it, report it, write an email to the company or person. ensure that when you are doing something, its mature and appropriate
d. take down/ change your account. If you wish, taking down your account is an option. It is a lengthy process that is not ensured. Although it takes a lot of effort it is a smart move.

- a. To narrow down the search put your search in quotation marks. This narrows down the results and allows you to find you direct website faster. by simply inserting a ” at the beginning and end of your search everything will be n=more convenient. b.add a – followed by a word you would like to exclude from your search. for example if I am searching up “football” and I don’t want anything with american football to come up I can add -, for example ” Saturday football highlights -american football”. this will allow you to find your topic more conveniently and get rid of other unwanted items.
- I searched “Saturday football highlights” mostly receiving american football. when fixing it the search result were higher as soccer is a larger sport, accurate highlights were supported when “-american football” was inserted and it allowed me to watch highlights more conveniently. Before After
- website: https://highlightsfootball.com Title: Highlights football Publication day: 04 October, 2019 Entry day: 06 October, 2019 Title: Football match highlights, soccer goals and shows Author: no author was found
- When was the site last updated (found on top or bottom). This could determine whether information is updated and to the best of it quality. even if it is on history, new evidence can always be founded and it is essential to update it. The next clue to look for is relevance. does this site provide the information necessary for your assignment or is it just easy to read from and the first thing that pops up (usually unreliable). Is the author a reliable professional, or do they just like writing about the topic? being aware of who wrote the article is also essential and easy way is looking that the URL. The URL should provide general information, for example org=organization, gov= government, and com= commercial. these are a few easy examples. after finding these examples you have to ask yourself, ” is the information accurate”. You have to look out for it being opinionated, does it match other websites, or the company attempting to sell you something, to overcome this just read very closely. Why did the author create the page? if its their occupation and they are being paid to do so the information is often reliable, although if they did it in their own time for fun, its often unreliable.
PLN stands for personal learning network. It is basically where you connect with others to share ideas, questions, reflections, questions, and more. It does not have to be online, although often you receive the best experience globally. It is personally because you choose who you would like to interact and speak with in order to receive the best and most thorough experience. The learning part is a big obvious, essentially it is the information you receive through this network online. The networking part works because of the people. You know others and have connections with them, they know other people, so on and so forth. This ongoing system gives you knowledge.
2A My network is related around soccer.50% of the time I focus on academics, the other 50% on my soccer portfolio. As I previously mentioned I play a high level of soccer. For this performance team we get our games filmed, later editing them and posting them on a recruiting website. With this I receive help from my coaches. Not only do I edit the although I learn from my play and implement it on the pitch. The format in named Hudl for my highlights and NCAA for my collage recruit. Although it may seem a little early to be looking so far ahead, its actually the prime time. Of course hours and hours of work are implemented to this craft of editing (not the easiest as a soccer player) and even more on the pitch.
