Morning English Class – Dec. 17 & 18

Good Morning,
Morning English Class (on both Thursday & Friday)
Thursday:
I am away unfortunately for the next two days…have the flu or really bad food poisoning I think:(
Presentations will continue but you will have someone from class filming your group’s scene re-enactments! A digital literacy teacher, Ms. Kim, will come into class and show you how to upload your scene re-enactment video onto your blog. You will want to film in Landscape view, Ms. Kim will tell you the format to save your video in and help you set up your post. You should all be able to finish your video posting with everything attached before you leave class on Friday. You will use the tag: hscene
Thursday Plan: you will have more time to rehearse your scenes.
1. You will set up the post on your blog so that all you have to do on Friday, is edit your post, and upload your videos (all three versions)
2. Perhaps organize two people from the class, in different groups, volunteer to film everyone. Ask the TOC to do the timing and yell “STOP” your group at the end of each allotted time segment if needed.
3. Use today to do a rehearsal run. Maybe have someone video your performance and then look at the play back and make sure your voices are clearly heard, see what the other group members are doing when someone is speaking, are your group members making eye contact with either the audience OR the appropriate actor. Can you improve your props? Body Language? Tone? Volume?
Friday Plan: perform and record your scene re-enactments final. Post everything to your blog! Any extra time can be used to play the games.
Organization of the class. Leave lots of room at the front of the room for the performances. Have a place in the middle of the room for the person recording each group. Maybe use some boxes to give the recorder a platform to steady the phone. Decide whose phone from every group is going to be used to record and then share with your group members. Have that phone ready to give to the “filmer” when it is your group’s turn to present. Everyone is expected to watch each skit respectfully, no fidgeting while others are performing. Please get into costume before the presentations begin!
What to bring to class on Thursday and Friday:
1. Your laptops (if you need to borrow one, do it BEFORE class) with a charging cord. Then you can post everything before you leave for your Christmas Holidays! And if there are problems, Ms. Kim can help you troubleshoot.
2. Make sure two people in your group have phones ready to film, just in case one doesn’t work, you have another one as backup. This means that the phones will need to be charged and have enough storage space available to record all three versions for Friday.
3. Please have Microsoft Word Document of the three scripts and summary. Make sure that these documents are saved on the desktop and then submit to the same post on your blog as your scene performances.
4. Use the Act and scene as your Title, use the following tag: hscene. Ms. Kim will tell you what format to record with and remind you to shoot using the landscape view.
Rescheduling Items for after the holidays: re-test and in class rewrites.
Have a Merry Christmas. I am sorry I will not be able to see these projects in person, but I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s performance.
