Extracurricular

Snowboarding is an event I find the most enjoyment in, hence why I’ve chosen it as my extracurricular event. This is due to the fact it is more preferable during poor days and an activity I act avidly towards. I partook in snowboarding at a very young age, and have adored the sport ever since. Typically, I’d prefer to snowboard at Grouse with select friends or family, but my favorite places include Whistler Blackcomb, Sun Peaks, Cypress, and Mt. Baker. I am now one of the superior figures within the system of the general activity and plan to pursue and prosper my passion to become an instructor next year at Cypress. I love snowboarding, and I aspire to make it part of my adult life or job and career. In season, I go to the mountain as frequently as I can, occasionally four-five times a week. Snowboarding has assisted me in the ability to destress and put my temper at ease, many times already this season. With school and being occupied with other things, it is often difficult to travel an hour to Grouse, but I discover time in my daily life to spend time on the hills.

I think I am most fond of the adrenaline and the feeling of the gradual but speeding rush of the movement. I like to go rapidly, and jumps never cease to amaze me. The top runs come with decent hills, uneven as well as rough moguls, and jumps. They also possess good visibility, plentiful snow without ice or excessive powder, and a great duration with not such an elongated of a line-up at the chairlift. In the new year, I have a great deal of school trips planned. I’m departing on many of the Whistler Blackcomb trips, alongside a couple of my good friends. I love the snow at Whistler, and the trips will be fun because my friends will be there too. Some of my best runs and significant moments were at Whistler, including sublime jumps I’ve landed for the first time and breath-taking sunsets. I usually prefer to go on double black runs with a great extent of jumps, but I believe my favourite snowboard experience ever was when I landed a backflip off of a cliff drop.

Snowboarding is one of my dearest hobbies, and my chosen extracurricular. I hope that in the new year I will persist to improve and spend time on this sport. Next winter, I also desire to become an instructor to little kids at Cypress. My goals for snowboarding in the long term include making it part of my job and everyday life. This sport is a huge part of my life, and I look forward to resuming snowboarding in the upcoming winter.
