One of the extracurriculars I do is taking piano lessons. I chose it because I love music and how beautiful and interesting the instrument sounds, and I have been doing it since I was 6. I have got to know several different people through piano. Additionally, piano prompted me to join band and choir in middle school. It allows me to play pieces that I really like, has inspired me to write my own melodies, and encouraged me to listen to to a variety of music. I decided to write my own melodies based off of the music I listened to and what I did for my theory exams (theory comes along with the actual piano stuff). Because of it, in the future I see myself playing an advanced piece in front of a large audience in a musical venue or a theatre.
