My name is Carolyn, and I am in grade 9. I am very excited to see what high school is like this year. It may be stressful at first, but I think I will eventually get over it. It is very different from middle school, due to having different classes with different teachers.

I live at home with my parents and my older brother, Jordan, who is in grade 12 and goes to the same school as me. My family is full-Chinese. I also have an older sister named Michelle, who is almost 29 and lives with her American husband in New York. They come to visit us usually two times a year, usually during the summer and Christmas break. I love my family very much.

My hobbies are drawing, painting, playing the piano, composing music, reading, and fitness. I really enjoy watching movies, especially the ones like Marvel. My favourite movie from Marvel is Avengers: Endgame. My brother and I watch movies fairly regularly. The book I’m currently reading right now is Shine by Lauren Myracle. It’s about a girl who finds out her former best friend, who is gay, has been brutally beat up and wants to find the person who did it. I think it’s a lot more interesting that the other books I’ve read, mostly because of the plot.

My Favourite Video

This video is by one of my favourite YouTubers, Brent Rivera a.k.a. MrBrent98. I love it because it shows how high school would be like for parents if they went back, and since parents still act the way they do, I find that extremely hilarious. Some parts have me bursting out loud, especially the one when the teacher gives Brent’s mom back her test.

My Favourite Image

The reason why this image is my favourite is because I love night skies that show the Milky Way a lot. The Atacama Desert, where the picture was taken, makes it even better. It is probably one of the best images I have ever seen in my opinion.

My Favourite Quote

I love this quote because sometimes I want to fit in, but I cannot always, and it’s by my favourite author when I was a kid, Dr. Seuss. For most of elementary school I was obsessed with many of his books. I think it applies to many parts of real life.
