Summary:

Lots of people have been spreading kindness throughout the COVID-19 outbreak despite the fears. A few examples of positive things done related to the outbreak include: offering to help neighbours, stores opening for the elderly and those with weak immune systems, and Chinese health experts bringing medical supplies to Italy.

Take Your Kid to Work Day 2019

1. Research a career that you are interested in pursuing in the future. Why are you passionate about this career and what does the work entail? What qualifications and/or education will you need to pursue this career? What are the salary expectations for your chosen career? Will this career be in demand in the future? Include images/graphs/charts to help you fully explain your points.

A career that I am interested in pursuing is computer programming. I am passionate about this career because it involves making computer, mobile, and console games, which I have been playing ever since I was very young, and they, along with websites and other types of software, are made through block or text-based programming languages. For education, the majority of programmers have a bachelor’s degree, although they can also be hired with associate’s or computer science degrees. Programming languages can be learned in school too, though only a few. Many students gain experience through internships in college/university. Programming languages can change overtime, so it is possible to learn a new language at your job or take continuing education courses. The average salary expectation in Canada is $53,712.

2. You will also need to find people with whom you can connect who could help you to find out more about your chosen career. Look for people who may be experts in the field and see if there are links to email/social media that might allow you to contact them for more information.

My mom can help me find out more about programming. She is a quality engineer for a local tech business, and has been coding for over a decade. She knows a lot about programming languages, programming terms, and how to fix problems in code.

3. Find a video that is related to your chosen career. Embed this into your post and explain in detail how this video relates to your chosen career. Be sure to point out any interesting facts or information that is contained within your video.

Video: Most Popular Programming Languages 1965-2019

This video, which was posted a month earlier this year, shows the most popular programming languages from 1965 to the present. What I learned from this video was that programming languages have existed since around the mid-20th century and what was popular back then was almost completely different from now. Currently the 3 most popular languages are Python, Java, and JavaScript.
