Paragraph one:

For the project that I am writing about I choose the invention project in Socials Studies. This is because I had the most fun inventing and thinking of new ways of helping the world and make people’s lives easier. I got my ideas by talking to my peers and discussing some of the problems that are happening in today’s society, our subject was to prevent robberies. Many people suffer from robberies each year and it happens every day and the majority of people that get robbed are middle-class people. This means that they only have enough for themselves and their families, which makes it tough if they lose everything and they have to start over again. I started to generate ideas for this project at the beginning of the assignment and me and my partner discussed what are some of the most common things that happen to people and how can we prevent them. After a while, we started thinking outside of the box and trying to find new solutions on how we can solve them.

 

Paragraph two:

When we wanted to do this project we had to see what other problems people are facing throughout the world (modern and in developing countries) and we thought about theft and how it affects people, we saw how people were feeling about it and we thought, that’s what we’re going to do. No one really had an idea like ours so we had thought of what people already have like cameras and dash cams and made a variant of that. I had previously researched a lot about this and had seen other people getting their cars broken into and not find the person that did it, so something clicked in my mind and I thought that these people must be very sad that they have nothing left in there business or vehicle. Robberies are a big problem anywhere in the world and I think this might help solve a big one, Grand theft auto.

 

 

Paragraph three:

I thought very hard on how we could implement this idea to the real world where everyone could see, and we thought the best idea was to make it for an affordable price. Now per the cost of our product be around 35 dollars, and we could sell it for 42 dollars. This may seem a little expensive at first however you will keep this for the next two to three years. I made this idea work and hopefully someone can actually use it in a real-life situation to benefit themselves and others. I haven’t been given materials for this because we aren’t supposed to actually make the invention however I have planned out what to buy, the prices, sizes, and everything we need to know to start making it. I can use this project on future studies and succeed in other places in life if I ever try and start a business and it hopefully takes off. This is good for a first project however it can be tweaked to be more efficient and hopefully in the future cheaper and more accessible.

Paragraph One: “Connecting and engaging with others”
Since in this assignment we could choose our groups I choose people that I have known for over two years now. My two partners were Jaiden and Yale, I have known Yale ever since grade three so we have some connections as for Jaiden I have known him for around two years and we both are interested in the same things so it was easier for us to get to communicate our ideas. Since we have talked lots of times before doing this lab we were not shy and didn’t have to spend time trying to get to know each other and this paid off as we did this lab in a concise time so we had time to record our observations and our data in one day instead of multiple. This had really helped us with our presentation and our sway because of the time that we had to work on this, also when we were doing this lab we had a week to do the sway so we had put all of our attention to that instead of the project and that is why I believe that we got one or two questions off the entire project.

Paragraph Two:
Another way that I had shown my communication was that we had great ideas and plans to collaborate with my ideas to my group members. We had been in group projects before and there was no struggle while doing this as stated in my last paragraph however we did have some good ideas that had made us excel in this lab. One of these was giving everyone apart to do early so then we had time to finish and everyone would get an equal amount of work. This system worked for us and so we had slicked with it. MY role in this lab was to do the Phet simulations, materials, hypothesis and procedure, this was not that challenging to do however I was very busy that weekend so I had to finish it quickly and I couldn’t get distracted. We all agreed on the same ideas one way or another but some parts we didn’t as in some people didn’t do what they were told some of the time. However, this only happened at certain moments and it didn’t happen very often which was good

Paragraph 3:
One thing that I could have improved on was I can give positive feedback and act on feedback that others give me. This is because when I see some do something wrong I try and point out their mistake and remind them calmly to do it next time. However, someone in our group did it continuously and that got on my nerves because our group got all there stuff done however he had not done it yet. This wasn’t a huge issue in our grade standpoint but because he didn’t do it we were now behind a little because of that. I try and associate myself as a leader when we do these labs and or group projects so I don’t really like to listen to others criticize my ideas and choices. I think that I need to change this mindset and I’m trying to do that currently. Overall I think that this lab was a good learning experience and that we could’ve improved some things but it was fine for the most part. If there was one thing that I could change it would probably be the group for a more hardworking one but I like working with my friends and that’s what I would pick over people that I didn’t know as well or at all.
