About Me

Oh hello! You wanna get to know me? Well, my name is Enda and I am currently in Grade 9. My favourite colour is ocean blue. Drawing is something that I love to do in my spare time. I love to draw things from people to animals realistically and also in anime style. I also draw characters from different animated shows and movies. Something else I love doing is binging Netflix shows and movies like iZombie, Grey’s Anatomy, and so on. I also love reading mystery and fantasy novels/series. In the winter time, I like to figure skate and do karaoke at home with my friends and/or family.

Quote

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you’re doing.”      -Pele

I completely agree. Talent isn’t what helps everyone succeed. People who do have natural talent still try to improve in their work. For most people, they work hard, persevere, learn, and study in order to achieve their dreams and ambitions. Your goals and dreams should also be something that you love doing. If you didn’t love doing the steps and the actions to reach that goal, the result wouldn’t normally turn out well. This quote also helps me keep in check of what is important in order to succeed in anything. It motivates me to do better and to work harder in things I’m passionate about, academically and in things outside of school. A lot of things in this quote are true as well; like working hard and learning to succeed and achieve your goals.

Favourite Video

Well instead of doing a favourite video, I’ve decided to write a paragraph about my favourite YouTuber, Lilly Singh. I love her funny yet relatable videos as well as her inspirational videos. Her videos are about things that are relatable to teenagers and young adults like back to school, shopping for school supplies, daily routine etc. She has studied in psychology which helps her in creating her videos. Lilly has also wrote the book ‘How to be a Bawse’. This book describes how to succeed and to be a “bawse”. Outside of YouTube, she has and still is supporting girls who have no access to education.

Favourite Website

My favourite website is Netflix. I love this website because of the variety of funny, suspenseful, dramatic, romantic, and horrific shows and movies you can find on there. These shows and movies have inspired me to write my own stories over the summer as well. I also love watching these movies and shows in my spare time.

Picture of Importance

A picture that has impacted me would be this:

Phil Hansen, an artist with a tremor in his hand and a diagnosis of nerve damage due to his intense style of pointillism, couldn’t draw or paint like how artists normally do. He tried over and over again to draw straight or curved lines perfectly. He believed that he couldn’t draw or paint because of the tremor for a long period of time. He dropped out of art school and stopped doing art completely. Phil was devastated until he decided to go to a neurologist and found out that he had permanent nerve damage. When the neurologist saw his squiggly lines, he said, “Why not just embrace the shake?.” This inspired Phil to embrace it, to try doing art using squiggly lines or other body parts like his feet. At the time, he also wanted art supplies, art supplies that any other artist should have. He was poor and didn’t have a job to help pay for the supplies. So, Phil got a job and when he got his first paycheck, he was thrilled. He went straight to a store and bought everything he wanted; from brushes to canvases. When he got home, he sat down at a table with all of his supplies and tried to draw something creative; something that no artist has ever thought of. He couldn’t think of what to create for days. Then he realized that he didn’t have to create something out of the box but go back into it. He thought back to what the neurologist had said, “Embrace the shake.” Phil then used his shaky hand and tried to create something with it. With a few inexpensive pencils, he first created a drawing of an African boy with Starbucks cups. This gave him more and more ideas till he came up with a conclusion: “We first need to be limited in order to be limitless.” Eventually, he got the idea to paint a picture with karate chops. Phil then created this picture of Bruce Lee with karate chops. This image has made me believe that anything is possible, no matter how many limitations there are. That you can achieve your goals no matter what.

  1. Enda, enjoyed your video. I really like how you have integrated various media (video, images, links) into your post. You have done a very good job constructing your page and commenting about yourself and your interests whilst still being mindful of your online presence. Good work.
